Thank You Goodies Bin to Delivery Services - Tub Options & Printable Sign
What started off as a trend has now become a tradition in thanking our delivery service workers each holiday season. Delivery workers are busier than ever with more people choosing to shop online as we have navigated Covid-19 this year. This will be the third year our house has provided quick snacks for drivers from UPS, FedEx, Amazon delivery, and USPS. Last year we even received a heartfelt thank you card from the USPS workers! We hope we can continue to give even a little joy, as our essential workers go on their route this year.
If you’re interested in trying this gesture out this year or looking for new ways to present goodies, here are a few suggestions to get you started.
1. Choose a bin or tub to present your treats. My favorite option is a galvanized tub with stand. It’s at a good height for easy reach and can hold a decent amount of snacks, so I can provide more variety.
If you’re looking for only tubs without a stand or a smaller option, think of choosing a red bin for a more festive look. Or dress up a plain colored tub (for year round use) with a holiday sign.
Tubs can be placed on a small table, chair, or directly on the porch.
2. No matter which bin style you choose for your treats, make sure they are easy to grab. I like to place each item in neatly, making each snack visible so that it’s obvious what kind of snack it is. This is so people are not looking at their choices in an overwhelming way. I have taken note of the popular choices the last couple of years and have pivoted snack choices a bit for more of the good stuff.
Plain potato chips, Doritos, and mini fudge striped cookies were some items chosen quickly. I’m also trying out small pieces of individually wrapped candy for that quick snack for those that want an even smaller bite. Whichever goodies you give, please stick with individually wrapped, sealed goods, for safety and convenient reasons instead of making homemade snacks. People will appreciate the kind gesture no matter what you choose, it’s important we try not to spread any unnecessary germs.
3. Place a sign on the tub that first, thanks the delivery service workers for their hard work, and second, let’s them know exactly what to do. Sometimes a prompt is needed to let workers know, yes, really, these treats are for you!
